Mariam Mjahid, the former K24 news anchor, has landed a new role with the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), marking an exciting new chapter in her career.

Taking to social media, Mjahid shared her excitement with followers, saying, “Bismillah: Sura mpya, changamoto mpya, na ndoto zinazoanza kuchanua,”

Mjahid’s left MediaMax, the parent company of K24, on October 25, 2024.

Reflecting on her time at the station, she shared her gratitude for the growth and experience she gained over the years.

“I leave K24 having grown into an experienced journalist, editor, and producer,” she said.

“I remember starting the TV program ‘Mchipuko’ and connecting with viewers in Swahili. I’m also proud of my segment, ‘MWANAMKE NA UONGOZI’ (Women in Leadership).”

Mjahid, who leaves her role as editor and producer for several programs, expressed her appreciation for her colleagues and K24 management, including Group CEO Ken Ngaruiya, Swahili Desk Head Shaban Ulaya, and English Desk Head Ellen Wanjiru, for their unwavering support throughout her tenure.

“Leaving here is not the end, but the beginning of a new season. Goodbye for now, until we meet again. Adios.” She wrote.
