Several Kenyan U17 female players who participated in the U17 World Cup in the Dominican Republic are set to explore career opportunities in Europe and the U.S.

The Junior Starlets made their World Cup debut, exiting in the group stage after losses to England (2-0) and North Korea (3-0).

They celebrated a historic 2-1 victory over Mexico, marking Kenya’s first win and goal in a World Cup.

Following the tournament, there are encouraging prospects for these players.

Coach Mildred Cheche revealed that scouts from the Chicago Red Stars and Atletico Madrid Academy were particularly impressed and expressed a desire to keep in touch with the coaching staff.

Notable standout players included Lorna Faith, who scored and was named Most Valuable Player in the match against Mexico, along with Marion Serenge, Valarie Nekesa, Halima Imbachi, Lorine Ivalonga, and Rebecca Odato.

Cheche noted that the players left a lasting impression, with scouts eager to maintain connections after the tournament.
