Migori Youth FC, a team in the National Super League, was involved in a road accident near Kinoo on the Nairobi-Nakuru highway. The team was traveling to Thika for a match against MCF at the MPESA Foundation grounds when the incident occurred.
The driver of a Transcar Sacco matatu lost control, veering off the road and colliding with the team’s stationary bus. Five players—Lucky Musyoki, Tyson Omondi, Kelly Otieno, Nicolas Ochieng, and Josphat Kagege—sustained serious injuries, while others on the team suffered minor cuts.
The injured players were promptly taken to St. Patrick’s Hospital in Muthiga for treatment. Originally scheduled for a 10:00 AM kick-off today, the match against MCF has been postponed. Team official Osman confirmed that they communicated with MCF, who agreed to the postponement in a show of sportsmanship.

The team has formally notified the Football Kenya Federation about the postponement. Most players have returned to Migori, with the exception of the five who remain hospitalized.
