Rigathi Gachagua has removed the ‘Deputy President’ title from his official social media profiles just hours after Prof. Kithure Kindiki was sworn in as his successor.
He also altered his Facebook and X cover photos, replacing a group image featuring himself, Pastor Dorcas, President William Ruto, and First Lady Rachell Ruto kneeling down during the inauguration.
He has replaced it with image of him lifting his hands toward Mt. Kenya as if in prayer.
Gachagua updated his X (formerly Twitter) bio, changing it from “Husband. Father. Deputy President of the Republic of Kenya” to simply “Husband. Father. Kenyan.”

These changes came shortly after Gachagua broke his silence following the swearing-in ceremony at KICC, Nairobi. He shared a photo of himself with his family—wife Pastor Dorcas and their two children—relaxing on the grass at his home in Mathira.
In his post, Gachagua expressed gratitude for his family, noting his excitement about returning to his routine morning walks through Hombe Forest”.

His wife Pastor Dorcas shared the same photo on her social media, accompanied by two Bible verses, emphasizing her family’s gratitude to God despite their current circumstances.
