A police officer stationed at Kahawa West Police Station has been arrested on allegations of soliciting a Ksh.50,000 bribe to drop a criminal case from court.
Police Constable Christine Nyokabi Macharia was taken into custody yesterday by officers from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).
EACC spokesperson Eric Ngumbi said that Nyokabi was initially held at Kilimani Police Station before being transferred to the EACC Integrity Centre Police Station for processing.
The suspect has undergone questioning and provided a statement, with further legal proceedings expected as she awaits arraignment.
