People of Kilera village in Igembe North, Meru County are mourning death of four people killed by a resident yesterday afternoon.
Jeremiah Kabuora, 38 had an altercation with his father. He was chased away from home but went on rampage with a machete.
He started slashing people he met on the road and in the process killed four and seriously injured another before angry residents cornered and lynched him.
Igembe North Police Commander Mark Bitok said three died on the spot while the fourth one succumbed in hospital.
Another victim was admitted in hospital in serious condition.
The victims were aged between 35 and 70. It is claimed the man was mentally challenged.
