After numerous complaints from motorists along Sotik-Kericho road in Rift Valley, officers from Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) swung into action and arrested four traffic police officers.
In the first incident, Corporal Rachael Aiyabe and Constable John Oluoch were arrested in Litein town as they extorted motorists in the guise of traffic law enforcements.
As the EACC detectives were transporting the two officers to Nakuru, they Corporal Cynthia Kemoi and Police Constable Philip Sitienei in the act near Kaisugu tea factory on Kericho-Nakuru road.

Kemoi and Sitienei are from Kericho Police Station.
The four were processed at EACC South Rift Regional Offices in Nakuru on Wednesday and released on bail pending the finalization of the probe.
According to the commission, non-compliance with the established road safety regulations due to payment of bribes is a notable cause of road accidents on major highways, especially from Nairobi to Western Kenya.
