It is now official the deputy governor of Uasin Gishu county Engineer John Barorot has resigned.
This comes barely after he skipped the Thursday last week event of conferring Eldoret town the city status.
The event was attended by President William Ruto.
Barorot absence was conspicuous as earlier rumours were rife that he had quit job.
In earlier interview with the media, Barorot termed as mere rumours and his claims were echoed by Governor Jonathan Bii who claimed he was on leave.

The cat is now out of the basket. He has announced his resignation at a meeting with senior county employees at a hotel in Eldoret city.
It is whispered his working relationship with Bii alias Koti Moja had soured.
