A police officer escaped lynching narrowly after he knocked down and killed a man on Lusaka road in Nairobi’s Eastlands.
The officer based at Makongeni Police Station based along Jogoo road was driving a truck when the accident happened.
Angry bodaboda riders bayed for his blood but he was rescued by fellow officers.
He sustained hand and back injuries and is now recuperating at Huruma Nursing Home.
The riders stoned the vehicle before sitting it on fire.
