Leaders of Kangangi market in Kiambu town suspended Pauline Waithira popularly known as Ruto’s Mama Mboga from operating business there temporarily after she caused fracas, paralysing market activities.

Waithira who shot to limelight after she was picked as face of hustlers in Ruto’s presidential campaign team caused a scene that left fellow traders shocked.

They accuse her of insulting them after she was asked to contribute to a burial fundraiser of one of them.

When a fellow trader told her they were raising money for burial of one of traders, she refused to contribute and started fracas.

Waithera claimed (Watch video below) traders misappropriated money raised for the burial of her only child Alex Mbugua who was buried in April.

She alleged that traders and market leadership have been pursuing Sh560, 000 that President William Ruto contributed.

The market Chairman George Ngugi refuted the claims saying she started the disturbance then reported the matter at Kiambu Police Station but case was dismissed as it falls under County trade department.

Ngugi said decision to suspend her briefly was as per set rules of the market to allow mediation before she resumes business.

Waithira however said she will not apologise and will escalate the matter to higher authorities.
