After he was elected Kiambu Governor, Ferdinand Waititu alias Babayao in one time narrated how he acquired a public land in Nairobi.
In May 2019, barely two years as second governor, Waititu was filmed as he bragged how he grabbed part of land meant for a market in Nairobi.
He was attacking then Starehe MP Maina Kamanda who he claimed was a land grabber too.
He said the land along Outering road where the Wakulima Wholesale Market was to be relocated from the city centre was grabbed by Kamanda.
Waititu too owns a piece of the land but claimed he bought it from a grabber, knowingly.
The following year he was impeached and his deputy James Nyoro took over until 2022 polls.
Babayao was also charged with corruption cases and is now in political cold trying to redeem his image.

The 62-year-old father of two started his political career as a councilor for Njiru ward in 2002 and became Nairobi deputy-Mayor.
From 2008 to 2013 he served as Embakasi MP. He was elected in a by-election after the murder of Mellitus Mugabe were who had won the seat in 2007.
He served as an assistant minister for Water Services and Irrigation during President Mwai Kibaki’s regime.
In 2013 he vied for Nairobi gubernatorial seat but lost to Evans Kidero. In 2015 Kabete MP George Muchai was shot dead in Nairobi streets.
Waititu vied for the seat and won the by-election.
