Sakaja was chased away by traders.

The governor Johnson Sakaja tasted the wrath of angry Toi Market traders who had lost wares worth millions of shillings in fire incident today morning.

The fire also burnt beyond recognition four people including a child.

Sakaja had visited the market along Ngong road when the hell broke loose. He was chased away as rain of stones showered him.

His bodyguards were forced to cover him with their bodies.

The traders were mad at his administration for failing to respond in time to save the situation. About 200 traders were affected by the inferno.

This is not the first time this market was destroyed by fire.

In June 2023, a similar incident resulted in the destruction of property worth millions of shillings, and the market has seen significant fires since 2014.
